Our meetings start at 7:15pm sharp. We start with announcements of anything pertaining to us and our community. A facilitator is there to start the topic and make sure everyone has their turn to share. When we discuss the pre-selected topic, each person will have the opportunity to pass or express her thoughts, ideas and experiences without interruption and all will be accepting of her diversity without judgment.

It is everyone’s responsibility that each person leaves with the benefit of a positive experience. We are all part of what makes the meetings work. We give others the courtesy of our attention and we refrain from conversations while someone is sharing. To ensure everyone’s opportunity to share, we limit our sharing time to approximately 2 minutes, keeping in mind that our meetings are not a debating or therapy group.

We speak only of our own experiences, using the “I”. We want to hear about each other, not someone else. We do not name drop. After each person has a chance to share we will then call on people to speak as their hands are raised.

We pass around a basket toward the end of the meeting. Your donation of $4 helps support the operating expenses. We also ask you to drop in the basket any topic suggestions.

We protect everyone's anonymity by keeping in mind that everything that transpires at GOLD is confidential. This is an important unspoken promise.

A financial statement is reported on semi-annually.
